Stories of resistance, imagination, and solutions from the global majority

  • This is a space to celebrate the people who rise. Often ignored, always unstoppable. Here you’ll meet activists from every corner of the world, united by one belief: that change is not a distant dream but a daily act of courage. This exhibition honours some of the remarkable activists driving change on the frontlines of inequality, climate justice, gender rights, and democracy. Their struggles differ, but their fight is the same. To demand fairness, equality, and ensure every voice counts.

These are only a few of the countless stories unfolding every day. Alongside every person featured here stand thousands more, each carrying the same determination to build a just world. These are portraits of a global fight for justice that crosses borders, languages, and generations. Every national struggle echoes globally, and every global action strengthens those fighting at home. Together they form a movement without borders or hierarchy, proving that real power lies not in the wealth or status enjoyed by the 1%, but in collective action and shared hope. We The 99% rise together to reshape the world.

Fight Inequality Alliance (FIA) is a global movement confronting the crisis of inequality to build a just, equal, and sustainable world. Formed in 2016, it has grown rapidly to more than 500 member organisations across 50 countries - NGOs, women’s rights groups, social movements, and unions- representing millions of people, mostly in the Global South. FIA is not an insider advocacy operation or an international NGO, but a diverse alliance of movements, activists, and artists working together to shift power to ordinary people. Our collective action has already driven policy change, strengthened grassroots organisations, amplified the voices of marginalised communities, and helped transform how inequality is understood and challenged around the world.

Thank you from our hearts to all the activists featured, who took the time and energy to make this exhibition happen.

Thank you also to the thousands who stand alongside them in the fight against inequality, often sidelined, but impossible to ignore.

And thank you to the ancestors who went before, and to generations who will take up the struggle in the future.
