"If I were in charge, I would change the global economic system. Why? Because we need a system that prioritizes environmental sustainability, respects human rights, regulates distribution of excessive wealth, and eliminates privileged classes in every country."

"I draw a redline against capitalism, fascism, and the exploitation of minorities."

"I draw a redline against capitalism, fascism, and the exploitation of minorities."

I became an activist when I began to identify human rights violations and understood I could not remain silent, for my own sake and for the sake of vulnerable communities.

My activism is community-based because I believe that communities are the essence of a more just and equitable society.

My biggest challenge is raising awareness about complex issues like the climate crisis, social injustice, and economic inequality. Especially when it seems like these issues do not concern everyone. But they concern us all.

I'm inspired to keep going by the knowledge that even the smallest actions can grow into changes that will benefit communities in the future.

Sofía Carbajal Inestroza is a Honduran human rights defender working with and for LGBTIQ+ people, people living with HIV, and other communities in vulnerable situations.

Sofia is a transfeminist, anti-patriarchal activist dedicated to disrupting the structures that perpetuate discrimination and violence.

Sofía is an active member of REDLACTRANS, the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Trans People, and of Colectivo Unidad Color Rosa.

Meet The Photographer

Siphelele Sigabi

  • My name is Siphelele Sigabi, a.k.a Sip The Snapper, I’m a Johannesburg-based photographer with over a decade of experience capturing people and moments across portraits, events, concerts, street and fashion photography. My journey behind the lens has evolved over the years — recently, my work with NGOs has inspired a growing interest in documentary-style storytelling.

Photography, for me, has always been a way to access and engage with the visual world. I might not call myself an artist in the traditional sense, but I’m drawn to the way images can reveal character, emotion and everyday stories. Whether I’m shooting on the street or at an event, I aim to create honest, grounded visuals that reflect real experiences and connections.
