Lilia López

Mexico City

-

Mexico

"If I were in charge of the global economic system, I would promote a fairer, more equitable system where people's lives are at the center."

"I draw a red line against the 1% - the ultra-rich who perpetuate the capitalist system on our bodies, especially on feminized ones, through inequalities and injustice."

"I draw a red line against the 1% - the ultra-rich who perpetuate the capitalist system on our bodies, especially on feminized ones, through inequalities and injustice."

I became an activist when I experienced injustice firsthand, and when I understood that remaining silent in the face of injustice is also complicity.

My activism is a struggle fuelled by empathy and collective action to build other possible worlds.

My biggest challenge is protecting collective unity in the face of apathy.

I am inspired to keep going by hope, and by the people who fight every day to build other possible worlds.

Lilia Lopez’s activism focuses on defending labor and women’s rights, citizenship, participatory democracy, and social justice, fostering collective processes through strategic communication.

She is currently part of the Liaison and Legislative Processes Commissions and serves in the National Coordination of the Frente Nacional por las 40 Horas, representing the state of Morelos.

She is also an active member and Council representative of the Alianza Contra la Desigualdad, México.
