GIRLS NOT BRIDES
Twelve million girls are married every year before they reach 18, according to UN estimates. And in its first set of global statistics on child marriage rates among boys, the UN found one in 30 young men were married as children.
The girls who speak here were photographed in collaboration with the London-based NGO Girls Not Brides – an international network of more than 1,400 civil society organisations working to end child marriage and enable girls to fulfil their potential

EKHAYA
Ekhaya is a series of portraits of people in their homes, in and around Cape Town, South Africa. The homes are sometimes semi-formal structures, others are simply a converted container, left over from a film shoot. What links all all of them is that they are home to the people that live there.

TEXTBOOKS MATTER
In Limpopo province of South Africa, many school children do not have access to a full quota of textbooks. The government promised to provide them but 4 years later still has not delivered.
Public interest law firm Section27 took the South African government to court in November 2015 to demand that they provide a full quota of textbooks for each learner.

PREP WITH PEPFAR
In 2021 I traveled around Lesotho for PEPFAR (U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief). The aim was to document the great steps that have been taken to mitigate the once devastating HIV/AIDS epidemic.

SECTION27’s Nomatter Ndebele and I travelled the roads of South Africa in search of the foot soldiers of the health system, the men and women who quietly get on with doing the job and saving lives, often without any acknowledgement.
