Ekhaya means ‘Home’ in IsiZulu.

The project was a 2017 collaboration with The Development Action Group, a Cape Town based Non-Profit Organisation that supports communities to strengthen community organising; enabling affordable housing, land and tenure security; resist evictions; and shape urban development policies.

Ekhaya is a series of portraits of people in their homes, in and around Cape Town, South Africa. The homes are sometimes semi-formal structures, others are simply a converted container, left over from a film shoot. What links all all of them is that they are home to the people that live there.
