Tevin Chinzamba
Tevin Solomon is an award winning photographer who has a personal
conviction that our calling here on this earth is to serve, and to achieve this we use each and every tool at our disposal to amplify the voices of every individual crying for help. People who have seen the darkest side of life are normally stationed in places that are so remote, such that their loud cries only reach us as echoes hence the need to lend a listening ear to the stories and offer a platform for amplification per adventure it might land on the desk of a potential helper.
Storytelling is my passion, help is my deepest desire and the media is my
Platform, my outlet.
Hailing from Mutare, Zimbabwe, we capture these stories, unfiltered and the emotions, show them to the world. In any case, take me to where the story is, the media is not just there to entertain or socialise but also available to educate, transform and impact. Working with vulnerable individuals, grassroots communities or basically gifted individuals who need a platform is a joy to me. It gives me a sense of fulfilment, one of someone who has managed to live up to
their calling on earth.
Every project I have put on any public platform outlines the aforementioned, this is the passion and goal. I believe the story is in the pictures, I am a writer, who
also writes in pictures. My photography is thought provoking and change
initiating, there is no better way to express it.

"If I was in charge, I would make sure we abolish every law that promotes inequality and fosters unequal treatment."
Thelma Mashingaidze, 22, is a student activist who is also pursuing a diploma in social work. She is striving for change for all students in Zimbabwe and spends her days engaging other students and helping them to solve a multitude of different problems. Her role is to act as a bridge between the students and the university administration.
Her activism began when she became a student herself at Mutare University, seeing how her contemporaries were being treated and struggling to get help with their problems. She started to attend the national budget meetings and engage with government policies that affect the youth.
Thelma represents students on and off campus and creates community engagement programs. One of the main problems that she sees is the rising cost of university fees because it is no longer consistent with the income of parents, and is quickly becoming unaffordable.
To help, she liaises with the administration of the university to organise payment plans on an individual basis. She also facilitates engagement between the students, banks and independent loan companies.
Thelma is also passionate about advocating for the girl child, especially as concerns the cultural norms and values around education and marriage.

"What inspires my activism is the desire to represent the marginalised and those who have their rights suppressed."
